Guinness World Records just noticed JJK as the world’s current most popular anime. Continue to shit on it all you want but JJK 🔛🔝 while AoT sinks into the pits of irrelevancy. Gojo’s impact >>>> Levi could never relate (he’ll never touch the heights of Gojo’s popularity)
Yeah, and "Avatar" is the highest grossing film of all time, but nobody remembers anything about it, do they?
I know it's really hard for you to understand that artistic merit doesn't equate popularity, though. It's okay. The short bus will be by momentarily to pick you up for daycare.
#clowns keep trying#your desperation is showing#keep trying to find new angles to hate on Levi#and keep revealing what an insecure little bitch you actually are#also I'm a fan of Gojo#so you bad-mouthing Levi to lift Gojo up isn't the flex you think it is

men who have the patience of a saint. they respond with utmost calmness that honestly freaks you out sometimes. maybe even infuriates you.
so, you may purposely go out of your way to make their lives hell. being the ultimate bitch, in other words.
you’re snappy and short, sassy and high maintenance. he’ll ask you what you want to eat and you’ll respond with “shouldn’t you already know what i like?”
he does, of course, but sometimes you like changing up your answers. so if he guesses the wrong one, it pushes you even more to lash out at him.
you nitpick and give him dirty looks, lip curled up and raising your hand to his face as if you’re oh so above him. but no matter what, his composure sustains. a gentle smile or placid expression, he just does not get frustrated.
that’s wrong, he does. but when he’s annoyed, that goes directly to his dick.
it’s why he’ll fuck you a little rougher than usual, manhandle you just a bit and spit dirty words mixed with sweet praises into your ears. another reason you act like a little prissy whore, because his dick game is on ten.
he honestly loves it when you act out. it helps because then he won’t feel that bad when he shoves his cock down your mouth, tears streaking down your cheeks and ruining your pretty makeup you spent too long on. or when he forces your legs apart a little too hard, just so he can hit you at the perfect angle.
he knows you like it too because your noises get the slightest bit high and in that whiny pitch he craves to hear.
so although his duality is confusing, because he can be the perfect man but fuck you like he hates you, you love it. you love him.
in short, he takes your attitude, rude behavior, smart remarks and turns that around by giving you what you both want.
a good fuck.

Fucking hell Nightbringer really gave me everything huh god
Henry 1.0 origin story
Cerberus origin story
Satan's cat thing origin story
"Goldie in Freezer" origin story
Levi's Ruri-chan obsession origin story
Mammon being scared of ghosts/horror origin story
More in depth version of Solomon & Asmo's first meeting/pact origin story
A painful reason for why Asmo's room looks like that
What the tsl characters would have been like irl (the absolute worst wtf simeon)
Mammon's issues finally discussed in depth
Mammon being extremely ride or die for Lucifer
Almost instant Mammon & MC friendship
Mammon being just so amazed by MC and also insanely supportive of them
Mammon being willing to do anything for his brothers, being more sure of himself, almost instantly following Lucifer's orders and making the others do so as well
Levi's issues discussed in depth.
Levi straight up saying he was depressed and still is
Levi's friendship with MC!
Levi & Lucifer's relationship!!!!!
Levi being shy and scared and just so 😖
Things being bad in the Celestial Realm even before they left
Asmo's issues being discussed in depth
Asmo very explicitly having body dysmorphia
The brothers being much more supportive and loving of each other
Lucifer being visibly scared of losing another family member and being insanely overprotective because of it
The brothers being slowly overtaken by their sins (something that was always a part of them but also something they could control as angels) and losing control of themselves
The brothers gaining new magic
Satan being a fucking mess
Satan not really fitting in and all of them being really awkward around him
Satan's issues being discussed in depth
Belphie's issues being discussed in depth
Belphie expressing passive suicidal ideation
Belphie talking about how he needs someone to blame for what happened to Lilith so he can process it/make sense of it even if that someone is himself
Lucifer's issues being touched on from from different perspectives/angles
Diavolo's issues being hinted at
Simeon's issues being vaguely discussed
More about Lilith! (remember my post about how lilith definitely wasn't a sweet little angel because there's no way the universe would let lucifer catch a break? I was right!!! She was as much a little shit as the rest of her family!)
More about the demon king! (He wanted to stop the war too🥺 also a whole line of previous demon kings!)
More about god/how angels work (all angels are brothers & sisters but not technically family the way lucifer & his siblings are!)
ADAM!?!?!?!?!?
Solomon & MC's Sorcerer & Apprentice relationship seen in full detail!
MC being absolutely amazing
MC being competent and powerful and dangerous and resourceful and confident and the brothers realising all that but them also being funny and snarky and chaotic and outgoing and homesick and caring
References to present (s1-s4) brothers (& how they'll tear solomon apart if he doesn't bring MC back)
NIGHTBRINGER!? BARBATOS!!!??? but past barbatos doesn't seem to know anything about MC and present barbatos is helping solomon bring MC back....so who...?
References to Noble demons and conservative demons and devildom politics
Angel - Demon prejudice /racism from both sides explicitly shown
The brothers being war criminals and how the devildom sheltering them nearly re-started the war between the two realms
None of them being able to identify MC as a human (it takes Diavolo a long time + Lucifer straight up denies it when MC tells him), Adam & Nightbringer saying MC has the "power of angels", MC's favourite manga being one where the youngest child out of 7 is described as being angelic (*cough*lilith*cough*), Diavolo, even after knowing MC is a human, going "what are you"..... me softly chanting: nephilim!mc nephilim!mc nephilim!mc
The lessons flow better? It doesn't feel like one arc is squished into two lessons and then you must immediately jump into another different arc. It feels like it's all just happening in a connected sequence?
Better pacing in my opinion. It doesn't feel rushed.... like the part where satan discovers cats and then later is seen still sitting next to the cat and watching it? It feels appropriately spaced out
MC's relationships with everyone doesn't feel isolated. Like earlier there'd be a lesson or two dedicated to one character and we won't see much of the other characters during it. Now it feels like everyone is there interacting with everything in a normal, natural way. Yes there are lessons dedicated to getting to know one brother but the others are there, interacting with each other and MC during that time as well
The emotions & relationships are discussed/written in a way that feels very real and believable that it becomes actually really moving (s1-s4 also did this well but in nightbringer because of arcs/scenes/relationships not being isolated, of things flowing better and having a better pacing, of them outright discussing their issues it has a greater impact - yes I cried more than once shut up)
In the end, Nighbringer is darker than og OM! but not in the "grrr gonna kill you" way. It's "darker" because they address more serious topics in depth

Which of Jenna’s characters do you think would be the clingiest? (I loved your headcannons ❤️)
most clingy
this was a very wholesome one to think about, i had great fun. thank you the anon who submitted this. same deal as last time, if you're tl;dr my take is at the bottom

wednesday addams:
she likes to put up a tough front of needing nobody and desiring to be alone, but once she falls for you, it's as bad as morticia and gomez
you live in a room on the other side of campus, and she's made it a habit of sneaking to your room almost every night. she scales the fucking dangerous, rickety old roof to get there each time, but she'll do it, because she'll get to sleep with you
sometimes it's to sleep with you, if you catch my not-so-subtle drift, and then other times it's because she wants to sleep with you
of course, she'll disguise it as "my room has broken air conditioning" or "enid is snoring," and you just smile, nod, and lift the sheets for her to get in
she's not a huge cuddler in the sense that she wants to lay directly on you, but she wants to be around, in the same bed
you do this almost every night, and if you don't, she's knocking on your door right when people are let out of their rooms in the morning to hang out (or make out) before breakfast starts
she's virtually moved in with you, at this point. she has a toothbrush in your bathroom, several outfits in your dresser (in her own drawer), and she leaves dead animal skulls and occult books around to "liven up the place." they definitely don't match your pre-existing decor, but you don't mind because it's wednesday
she's not super fond of pda of any sort, but she'll definitely be right by your side when you're hanging with mutual friends. she'll hold hands under the table or kiss you when there's a private moment, but she's not all over you physically when other people are staring at you both
she does definitely get super jealous
she'll make little comments like "bianca seemed friendly" or "divina finds you awfully funny." if you're tutoring someone in the library, guess who will also miraculously be at the library at the same time? sitting in a chair with a perfect angle of the table you're at and peeking over the top of her book
wednesday is almost always with you, because you're one of the few people she trusts and longs to frequently be with
tara carpenter:
you live with tara and sam, so it makes sense that you and tara slowly grow closer and closer until you start dating
she absolutely loves to have at least one point of contact with you whenever she can. she'll lean against you, lean her head on your shoulder, wrap an arm around you, just let your shoulders touch, or when she really wants to, she'll leave a hand on your knee
when you’re both watching a movie, she’ll cuddle up against your chest and start to fall asleep there, especially if it’s one she’s seen before. you turn the movie off but don’t move, because if you do tara will wake up
during the events of scream vi or any time there’s a ghostface threat levied towards her or sam, she’s especially attached to you. she doesn’t sleep as well and refuses to leave your side, as she’s paranoid ghostface will come to take you from her
you assure her that you’re okay and she can sleep, grabbing her hand and squeezing it three times (i. love. you.). it calms tara down a bit, and though she’s still worried and makes sure the apartment is locked and you’re all safe, it helps her sleep
when things calm down again, she’s not super clingy in the sense that she’s always with you. you’re both in college and have your own classes, and though she wants you near, you both can function as separate people. it doesn’t mean she doesn’t want to be with you, but your work and school keeps you both a bit more apart during the day
you both text frequently though, not because she doesn’t trust you and wants to be on top of you, but because it’s just nice to hear from you and you both love talking to each other. she’ll send you photos of cute dogs she sees on instagram or a reel she finds funny with a little note at the bottom that says ‘hope your day is going well <3’
tara does get rather jealous at parties. it’s not your fault you’re hot, but when other people approach you to “talk,” 9 times out of 10 you’re too oblivious to realise you’re being hit on
she’ll walk right over to the conversation you’re having with someone random and duck under your arm to wrap it around her shoulders. if that doesn’t work, she also has the tactic of narrowing her eyes, or if she’s feeling especially bold, just grabbing your wrist and dragging you away to shove you down on some random bed
people know in general not to fuck with tara when it comes to you. in a way it makes you her weak spot, but she will absolutely raise hell and stab whoever she needs to, in order to make sure you’re okay
shes definitely a cuddler. she’ll drag you back into bed and wrap an arm around your torso and hold you there. sam always wrinkles her nose whenever she walks past you both cuddled up against each other on the couch after a long day
lorraine day:
you meet lorraine as an actor in the adult films, when she’s still with RJ. it causes a bit of drama when she leaves him for you, but once you and her are officially together she never ever wants to leave your side
it even means she starts acting in them herself, and the best part is that with you, it’s not even really acting. she loves every minute and how free you make her feel, and because she feels it strongest while in your presence, she chases after it all the time
she’s a giant hugger, wether it be side hugging, or wrapping her arms around your waist from behind, to rest her head on your shoulder and watch whatever thing you’re doing
lorraine is so in love, and with you it’s a sweetness that shoots up her veins like heroin. you both eat together, sleep together, work together, and travel together
you always travel together except for once, when you had to go check on your father as his health declined. it was two states away and you went alone, because lorraine was due to keep shooting with jackson, maxine, and bobby-lynne. the entire time you were away after the filming wrapped, she stared out the damn window over the hill, waiting for you to pull up in your truck
it wasn’t long enough a time that she could’ve written a letter, but she felt like a soldier’s wife craving your call
when you got back she ran out to meet you and jumped into your arms. you twirl her around with a laugh and she’s crying into your hands and kissing your palms and then kissing you.
you laugh and say “lorraine, it’s been three days,” but she shakes her head and kisses you again. she’s so happy you’re home you go AT it that night, to the point where wayne knocks on your door to tell you to quiet down
she’s wanted to marry you since the minute she met you, and she tells you as such, even though it’s been a bit over a year
she doesn’t get super jealous, just because she knows fucking other people is just what you do for work. it feels different for you both, when you’re alone and when you’re in front of the camera. you’re both comfortable with yourselves and your relationship, and it’s the comfort she’s always wanted
i’m thinking of hourglass by catfish and the bottlemen, i think that song describes it perfectly
you’re always together, in your own perfect little version of heaven, and while it’s not clinginess from jealousy, it’s clinginess from love and being happy
cairo sweet:
cairo is not clingy whatsoever
not in the sense that she couldn’t give a fuck about you— though she definitely attempted to push that narrative at first— but in the sense that she knows she’s the best and she knows you’re both so incredibly solid. if anything, being apart makes seeing each other even better
she’s a romantic and a rich romantic at that, so whose to say she won’t go on a vacation for a few weeks without warning and then reappear at school for you to ask her where she went
part of her enjoys creating a mystery for you, and making you chase her. she likes the thrill of it, and in a weird way it shows that you care about her enough to find out where she’s been or what she’s doing. it’s somewhat refreshing, considering her parents are so careless and you care so much
she does get jealous when she sees you with other kids. you’re just as intelligent as she is, and you give tutoring advice and run several clubs, so there are always kids who need to speak with you. she knows it’s just part of your role on campus, but it does irk her a bit when she sees you talking to pretty girls who are all too suddenly interested in correcting their math test
most nights between you both are spent at her home, tangled up. she likes to drink wine, but you stay away from alcohol. that doesn’t mean you won’t kiss it off her lips, though
you both are avid readers, so sometimes she’ll lean against you while you both read separate books and sit in silence. it’s peaceful, and cairo always thought she’d want some whirlwind forbidden romance, which is why she’s so surprised she likes the quiet domesticity
she’s definitely somewhat a fan of showy pda in certain situations. she’ll sit on your lap in between classes and wrap an arm around your shoulders, and who’s to say the girl who she caught staring at your lips yesterday wouldn’t come around the corner at the same time to see you there
she makes it perfectly clear she doesn’t depend on you, though. you both exist as separate people. she finds couples joined at the hip as “vapid” and “full of braggadocio.” of course, she’s proud of her relationship with you, but cairo also values her independence and separation
not that many people were even aware you were together officially, until a good three months in. you would argue (flirt) in class during socratic seminars, but most kids thought you both genuinely hated each other
for what it’s worth, you enjoy cairo for all her cairo-isms. it may be cringe to other people, but you do fundamentally understand her in a way no one else really does, just because of how open and honest she is with you. it was a struggle for her at first, but she does appreciate you for it

another one down. really tried to stick to clingy but it definitely branched out to other stuff too because i think there are definitely many ways to be clingy. clingiest, i would say would be lorraine, with tara not falling far behind

Just a lil weepy thinking about post-war dadvi, his little boy (5? 6?) wanting to make tea for his Dad the way he’s seen him do it a million times, because he just loves him so much and admires him and wants to make him the happiest Dad in the world, but he’s still so little compared to the world around him, so he pulls a chair over to the counter and climbs on it, putting water in the teapot, opening the canister of tea leaves, and pulling a teacup - Levi’s favorite teacup - out of the cabinet. but his hands are small, and when he tries to climb down from the chair the cup slips from his hand and breaks on the kitchen floor.
So, naturally Levi comes hurrying (as much as he can on his stiff knee) into the kitchen to see what produced the noise, and finds the chaos his little one has produced on the counter, and him, kneeling on the ground, with shards of porcelain in front of him. And when his father stands in the doorway, he looks up at him, tears collecting at his lash line.
“I’m sorry, Daddy…” he’ll whimper.
“What happened?” Levi’ll ask in his usual monotone voice, but there’s a softness behind it.
And the boy will try to explain, tears rolling down his face, feeling so awful for making a mess, and for breaking his Dad’s favorite cup, and for not being able to take care of Daddy the way Daddy takes care of him, because he’s got Levi’s same bleeding heart beating in his chest, the one that wants to take care, the one wants to be strong and independent. But also his introspection, his emotion, his sensitivity and empathy.
And Levi’ll be transported back to his own childhood, the teacup that belonged to his mom, the one that they had to sell, the one he tried to get back, but couldn’t. And his heart will ache so bad to think that his child, his sweet perfect angle of a thing, feels even a fraction of the hurt he felt over a piece of porcelain, because of his utter devotion to him.
And he’ll take the boy in his arms, and he’ll hold him close, and he’ll tell him patiently and gently, in his Levi way, that a cup is just a thing, and what matters most is that he wasn’t hurt. And how much he appreciates the boy wanting to do a nice thing for him, but that what he was doing was dangerous, and how important it is that he be more careful, because stoves are hot, and chairs can tip, and broken porcelain can cut one of his 10 miraculous sweet little fingers, and there are thousands of teacups to replace what broke but nothing in all of eternity could replace the boy, living and breathing, that he holds fast to his chest. (His voice is quiet, words grammatically simple, and his tone is steady but his heart is physically ACHING and flailing in his chest from how much love is trying to squeeze into it rn)
And Levi tells his son, in plain English (Eldian? Idk?), that he loves him, and that he always will, because with a tiny mind and heart at stake, there’s no room for beating around the bush with that talk like he often does. And he tells him that his parents will help him to do whatever he wants to do, and to ask for help next time.
Because if only someone’d told Levi, when he was that small, that they would help him. If someone has just loved him, and ALWAYS been there… how much easier he could’ve breathed all those years. The prospect of not having to constantly be afraid to feel. To fail.
It’s all he can think about - how he can do better, give more, than what he had - even in a moment as seemingly small as this.
(I’m sorry.)

Insubordination

Summary: fem!reader x Levi Ackerman // Never in a million years would you defy your captain over a gift. From him. Quite the story how you got in the first place.
Warning: 18+, fluff, slightly suggestive, you are soooo down bad but so is he
Note: I love him!
✦ Word count is 2.5k ✦
A hand at your chest, balling into a fist only to grab at something that wasn't there. Only air.
Your eyes stared at your reflection in the window before blinking, readjusting to focus on the contents on the other side of the glass - the inside of the shop. The sun shone at the right angle, causing jewelry to twinkle in the light. Gently, you smiled while admiring the different pieces.
Even so, there was one thing that dazzled you over the others. The one thing that captivated you more than any other sparkly, expensive ring or watch or bauble: a necklace. A silver necklace with a silver pendant - the pendant being a simple feather, wisps carved into it and encrusted with a million little diamonds that imitated the millions of stars in a night sky.
You had wanted that necklace more than anything.
Every time your squad came back from an expedition, the route always passed the jewelry shop last. And every time, you would peek in the window to check and see if that little treasure was still there. Maybe someday you'd get it. These days, jewelry was hard to come by. It didn't help that you felt so selfish for staring all the time and for wanting to purchase such a small vanity. And of course, every time, your friends would mercilessly tease you about this. They would tell you to just buy the damn thing already! You deserved something nice for your hard work. Didn't you know? But when you laughed along with their cooing, it was the same excuse every time.
"Oh, goodness, no! My family needs me! Every cent I earn goes back to my little brothers!"
How many more times would you pass by that stupid shop and dream of that necklace? Surely, you could afford it after all these months of saving.
It was so obvious.
Upon arriving back from an expedition, while carting the injured and parading through town as the people looked upon the scouts, Levi could see. He could clearly see when you drove your horse off to the side. He could see you sneak and take a moment to quietly look into that shop's window. And he could see a friend trotting afterward as you exchanged whispers and maybe even a joke or two. Trying to hide this playful behavior when you should have a modicum of decorum on the way back to base was ignored.
At the sound of your giggling, Levi blinked from his perch atop his horse. His expression was stoic, his gaze unbreakable as he stared into your caped back. There you were with your friends, holding back laughter about that silly necklace again.
He squinted his eyes in annoyance. Tch. You should have just bought it already! Everyone kept saying it.
Levi let out a sigh. He knew better than to think that. Because he knew you.
You were there since the very beginning - one of the first people to ever be assigned to his squad. Being close only revealed your strength and devotedness - a pure and unwavering devotedness to him. A most important member of his squad. Yet important was not enough to describe what you could have possibly meant.
Feeling his relentless gaze burn into your back, you looked up to meet those steel eyes of Levi's. In turn, your mouth dropped open in surprise. By the look in your eyes, it was apparent that you were flustered. For a second more, your gazes stayed locked until you adoringly smiled at the captain.
Levi's eyebrow twitched when you gave a small wave with your hand. Your surrounding friends gasped and looked up to where you were waving, and Levi scowled further. They burst into giggles, whispering whatever teases as your attention was pulled back toward them.
That smile on your face was something he could never get over. It was amazing how you could find such joy in a world where the scouts met danger on a daily, if not hourly, basis.
You deserved joy.
With scrunched-up eyebrows and a steady focus in his gray eyes, Levi looked forward. He knew what to do next.
Later that day, Captain Levi Ackerman walked into that very same jewelry shop. The family that owned the establishment was shocked. Patrons gasped. Levi walked around as if it were the most normal thing in the world, ignoring the gazes of people around him. Stupid that they thought this was so unusual. He was as unbothered as always.
"C - Captain Levi!? W - welcome, sir!"
The Captain Levi?
Buying jewelry? Would it be a ring? Was it for a secret lover? A woman in his life? The unreadable captain was a romantic? Amongst all the stares, low whispers, and comments Levi could give less of a shit what people thought. So after a moment of walking toward the front desk, with the owner quaking in his boots for whatever reason, Levi spoke curtly.
"That feather necklace in the window. I'll take it."
"Excellent choice, sir! P - please accept this discount for all your hard work!"
"Thanks."
It was also later that same day when your beloved squad captain found you in the dining area. A group of scouts were gathered around you, eating and laughing as you regaled them with a funny story from working on your family's farm as a youth.
As usual, Levi's appearance shut everyone up immediately, earning him stares of slight panic. Everyone probably had the same thought: they were being way too rowdy if the captain of all people walked over. However, you had the inkling that this was about something else. A heat blossomed across your cheeks when Levi stopped right in front of you.
"We need to talk. Now."
Of course, Levi didn't scare you in the slightest - but if he needed to talk so urgently, it did make you worry a bit. Instantly, you hopped up and gave an energetic yes, sir! And you followed him, giving one last pout at anyone who dared to snicker at the prospect of you and the captain being alone.
Was it really that obvious? Did everyone know about your feelings?
With a turn of Levi's head toward the crowd behind him, eyes glaring daggers, that was when everyone really shut up.
What really caught you off guard was when you and Levi were finally alone. You, seated in front of his desk, and he opposite of you in a much more lavish chair. Silence and a sort of heated tension filled the air, albeit you could not quite place a finger on what it was that made it feel this way.
Gently, Levi placed a small box onto the desk with a small clatter. You looked at the box, then at Levi. He was expressionless, and his eyes twinkled under the lamplight. As usual, he looked amazingly handsome. A heat dusted over your cheeks. What did he expect you to do? Soon enough, you opened your mouth to ask what in the world this was, but the captain spoke first.
"Open it."
His face did not change nor did his tone urge you to hurriedly act. He let you take your time as you furrowed your brows in confusion. With parted lips, you blinked at him in question again. You really had no idea what was going on.
So you did as you were told.
Carefully, you separated the lid from the box. And your eyes widened once you registered what was inside.
The necklace.
You held your breath. Levi stolidly watched on.
"Captain - " you gawked, holding the necklace delicately in your fingers.
"We're alone."
"Levi." you breathed, "What… why? This can't be for me."
"It is."
"You did not."
"I did."
A losing battle. So your gaze snapped down to the necklace, a calm and gentle smile spreading across your lips. It was breathtaking. And Levi was breathtaking. He bought this just for you? This was the last thing in the world you would have ever expected, but - you knew him. Cold, impassive Captain Levi to the soldiers. Sweet, resolute Levi to you.
"Thank you, Levi. I love it."
When you looked up, he adorned a small smirk. He leaned back in his chair, crossing a leg over his knee.
"Now you have to help me put it on!" you clapped your hands as Levi scoffed, smirk still at his lips.
Excitedly, you spun around and situated your hair out of place when he stood up to walk over. The necklace was clasped daintily around your neck, Levi's fingers pausing at your skin for a slight second as if to savor the feeling. The feeling of happiness - one such feeling he did not have the opportunity to experience often enough. He could see your shoulders rise when your breath caught in your chest at the contact. After a pause, his index finger reached out on command, and he froze to think about what he should or shouldn't do.
Thoughts you similarly shared. A closeness, a bond was there. Something was definitely there, and even your fellow scouts could see it. But what did you want to risk? Was it okay to take the risk despite knowing your profession all too well?
Levi's finger curled inward, and he ran a knuckle lightly down your spine. An adoring touch, one you did not experience regularly except for the rare opportunities Levi chose to reveal his inner softness. Foolishly, you hoped he did not feel your heart thundering throughout your body when he touched you so sweetly.
You decided to ignore the butterflies in your stomach as best as you could. With a grin, you turned to meet his calm eyes.
"And how does it look?"
When Levi opened his mouth to answer, you grinned and interrupted.
"Ah, wait! Don't tell me. I already know it looks amazing."
Levi could only tilt his head to the side, eyebrows folded inward as he gave a tiny, closed-mouth smile. The small, energetic bursts and the ability to still be so genuine and pure in this world - that was amazing too. Where did you find the strength?
As you thanked him one more time, Levi brushed it off - refusing to let you thank him and simply stating it was nothing. When you headed for the door, Levi watched your backside. There was one more thing he needed you to know.
"I better not catch you wearing that on the field, soldier. Would be a shame if it got dirty or you lost it."
With your hand on the door handle, you froze at his words. A small hum escaped your lips, and you turned around with a smirk.
"Of course not… captain."
For whatever reason, you two stood there in silence and stared at each other. Neither one of you could bare to look away. Like a magnetic pull linked you two together. The shadows on your faces danced under the low light. That arousing, heavy feeling was in the air again, and your heart raced. Levi got this gift out of the kindness of his heart. Because he cared. A simple word of thanks didn't feel right. Not after all the years of being by his side.
Without thought, your body moved.
Levi's eyes widened when your arms flew around his neck. He stumbled once but regained footing when you buried your face in his shoulder, hugging him tightly. These moments of intimacy weren't often. In fact, you weren't sure if he was fine with a hug. If he wasn't, you'd apologize profusely. Levi stood stunned in place, really taking in the feeling of your body pressed tightly to his. After a moment more of reflection, his eyelids shut slowly when he exhaled. He dipped his chin into your shoulder, lightly placing his hands on your back to return the hug. His perfectly cut hair shading out his eyes when he moved. A few seconds passed as you held each other, and when you pulled away - Levi simply studied your face with that same taciturn expression he always bore.
As you both stood there just gazing into each other's eyes, your hands gripping his biceps and his at your waist, your eyes glittered. He looked so damn good. He always did over the years. So your brain decided to make you move without thought again.
Swiftly, you pecked him on the cheek.
His eyebrows raised slightly into his forehead, and his lips parted but Levi did not say a word. With a small heat rising to your cheeks, you calmly walked off to the door. All you wanted to do was scream and kick your feet because you had just done that, a small but innocent kiss, but you felt being tact was best. At least for now. At the door, you paused, turning to look at him with such desire.
You smiled, "Good night, Levi."
The door closed, leaving the stoic captain to brush his fingertips against the skin where your mouth landed.
The very next day was another expedition. No surprise there. Your hands tightly held the reins to your horse whilst the hundreds of others walked uniformly down the streets. A small neigh caught your attention, and you looked to the right. With this formation, you were always within eyesight of Levi - never to leave his side unless otherwise stated. You were so close - you could have easily reached out to touch his thigh so reassuringly, but you had a duty to be respectable first and foremost.
It was only yesterday night, but scanning his face made you wonder if he had thoughts of the little gifts exchanged - a necklace and a kiss. It was just a small one! You couldn't fathom going overboard, so the cheek was subtle and friendly enough. This was silly though. Of course Levi probably didn't have time to think about that now. Just like yesterday, your hand darted to the space right underneath the neck - only to be greeted by the necklace this time. From underneath your cape, you grabbed the feather pendant between your thumb and forefinger.
"Hey."
You twitched and turned to meet Levi's eyes.
"What did I say about wearing that?"
Embarrassment was written all over your face. So you spent a while studying him, Levi looking more and more pissed with every second you kept him waiting. Before long, a small smirk appeared at your lips.
"Sorry, captain. I just can't do that. You see… someone really special gave me this. It means everything to me."
Levi's eyes widened.
With a call of Erwin's voice in the background, the horses sprang forth in a run out onto the field beyond the walls. A cheeky, closed-mouth grin, and you tucked the necklace back under your shirt. Within a second, your expression changed to a more serious one, and your eyes darted ahead in focus. No time to think about this bold, little remark any longer - no matter how much you wanted to see Levi's face. Hopefully, he wasn't mad. Because most of all, how dare you so openly defy his command.
Insubordination.
Levi smirked.
He'd deal with you later.
Privately, of course.

Upside Down- CH 14

Author's Notes: Hey, loves, I've said it before but just in case, I'll say it again. Sorry for the delay. Stuff happened, health was bad, jobs were quit, unemployment was a pain, hospitals were visited for various reasons, and overall, last year was one of the worst years of my life. I'm glad I can be back, and while I still can't write as fast as I used to, I should be getting works out once again. Thank you all for your patience, thank you all for still reading after all this time, thank you for being here, even with the fandom dying. I love you all. <3

An Unexpected Guardian Angel
------
If there was one thing you hated most about the human known to most demons as Pride, it was his utterly infuriating, deeply disturbing- almost creepy- nature of being infallible. Being so small, you’d think you’d have the little- pun not intended- joys of being able to spot scratches in the furniture or some stray coins on the floor or something. Anything to smugly be able to prove his failures. But no. There wasn’t so much as a dust bunny under the cover of furniture. It only made you all the more frustrated. Not only that, but he had apparently an angel’s level of focus. No distraction you had tried would get him to leave his path of patrol around his home office. And at this point, you had done everything you were capable of. Unplugging lamps, checking…other cords… Okay, so maybe that’s all you had done, but what else were you expected to do?! Moving from his bag to under one of the lounge chairs had been hard enough as is. If you made too much noise or made him suspicious, he would start looking around! Getting caught would ruin everything.
You were weaker than you ever had been, not even able to push the furniture an inch. Getting out without being spotted was surely an impossible task. This room had you trapped. But time was ticking, the longer you paced back and forth, the more Beel’s potential danger increased. There was only one thing you could hope for. That Mammon or Levi would come help you.
Feet stopped pacing. Hope for human help? Was that really what you had just thought? Well, they did prove themselves somewhat dependable in the game world. Still, it wasn’t like you to just think something like that so naturally. No matter how helpless this seemed, you would have to rely on your own actions to get yourself out of this. Think. The door would be too dangerous to try. Not only would jumping or crawling up to the knob be noisy, but the doorway was right in Lucifer’s line of sight. Was there another exit you could take? Based off the slight breeze in the room, there should be an open window.
Slinking from one end of the couch to the other, you followed the rays of natural light back to the window pane. Closed. But that made no sense. You could feel air shifting around the room. If it wasn’t coming from the window, then where? Staying as hidden as possible, you moved around the border of the room, trying to follow the breeze. Eventually, you spotted a strange sort of…cage attached to the floor? Slanted metal bars covered a small part of the ground. The air was coming through there, you could feel it. You had your questions on what it was, but you could always figure it out later. Surely it had to lead outside, or at least somewhere else other than here. From this angle too, if you were very careful, the human’s gaze would be shielded from the screen.
Jogging over quietly, you knelt at the bars. With all your might, you pulled at one of the slates, working on bending it enough to let you through. Nothing. Something like this would normally be easy… After you caught your breath, you noticed a round metal half-dome with a divot in the middle. It served to fasten the bars in place. Your fingers grasped at it. It was awkward to hold onto… You jammed a few of your fingers and claws into the mid-section, and started to twist. Strength was leaving you more every second, sweat beading down your face as you pulled hard enough to leave your fingers and hands raw. But you felt a little bit of it give way. Fueled by a stubbornness best befitting humans, you exuded more strength than you should’ve had to fully twist the fastening out of the ground. Setting it quietly aside, you pushed the metal cover over enough just to slip underneath.
Free at last. All you had to do was follow this path down and straight to the outside… Wait, branching paths? Which was the right way? What was this metal maze?… Keeping your movement quiet, you wandered around until you saw some more light. Unfortunately, it wasn’t light to outside, but to another room. Barred by another gate. The more you moved on, the more you realized you didn't exactly escape, just extended the walls of your prison. Every potential way out was blocked, and there was no way to work on the bars on the other end. Now what?…
Hold on. If this led to different rooms, could it lead to every room? And wasn’t there someone you knew that holed up in their room more often than not?
With your new mission accepted, you hurried with a bit more purpose.
At just a glance, it was difficult to tell if his room was occupied. Your sequestered vision only gave you an open view of his bed which was empty. He also enjoyed keeping the room as dim as the Devildom, which you had to wonder if it was partially to blame for his rather consistent squinty expression.
Luckily, you didn’t need just sight to determine if the human was there or not, for sound was the biggest factor. If you were learning anything about this human in particular, it was discovering that he was almost always accompanied by a nearly never-ending curse of clacking. Clicky-clacky, tippy-tappy, for hours on end, whether it was fingers on keys or screens or buttons, or simply nervous tapping. Even in here you could hear it. In fact, this chamber appeared to amplify it.
“Levi!” You hissed quietly, still in stealth mode. No response. Either your voice was a lot quieter being tiny or he had his headphones on. You would actually put money down Mammon style on it being both. Just to give it a bit of a test, you raised your voice loudly, trying to propel it up into the room. “Hey!” Crickets. Well, this is what you got for expecting a human to save you. Now what?… There had to be some way to get his attention… If only there was something you could throw. For a while, you paced back and forth, shoes clattering in this metal labyrinth.
That was it!
You had briefly thought of it in Lucifer’s office, but dismissed it for fear of him discovering your secret from your shrunken shoe. But that wouldn’t have to be a fear here. Even if someone else saw it in Levi’s room, they’d just consider it an accessory to one of his many statue things, whatever they were called. Slipping both off, you shifted your body into a proper place. If only you could hit him from here, but unfortunately you were reserved to only be able to see the corner his bed was in. What to aim for to get his attention? And what would be easiest? You only had two chances after all.
After much consideration, you settled all your chips on a small orange tinted bottle. It looked mostly empty, making it relatively easy to knock over, and the few small objects inside would hopefully make enough noise to get his attention. It was your best bet. A few blinks cleared up the dust in your eyes. A deep breath. A heavy swing hucked one of your shoes out past the metal grate and towards the nightstand. It arched through the air, and struck your target. Yes! The bottle wobbled and fell. It hit its side… and rolled away from the edge. No! It would be so much harder to knock off now…
Now what? Maybe you could bounce your last shoe off of… No, that wouldn’t really work. The lamp? No, you already determined trying to hit the button would be far too risky to be worth it.
In the middle of your rather panicked calculations, a hinge’s squeak echoed through the room. “Yo,” was the word that followed heavy footsteps. There was hope!
“What do you want, Mammon? I’m in the middle of something…”
“You seen MC today? I’ve looked around, and I can’t find ‘em. You don’t…think something happened, do you?”
Levi didn’t respond for a while, the silence the hint to his focus on other things. After a little bit, he sighed. The clacking took a brief pause. “Say that again? I wasn’t paying attention.”
“Hey!”
“Don’t take it personal! I had thirty seconds left to beat that challenge! Just say it again!”
When Mammon spoke next, it was in a grumbling tone. “It’s MC, dammit. They’re not here.”
“Well… I mean, just because we have pacts, doesn’t mean they have to be attached to our hips 24/7.”
Some flustered stammering followed that. “T-That’s not what I was gettin’ at! Besides, they should’ve said where they were going! I thought that boss/lordy type said that we had to keep an eye on them. MC agreed and all.”
Levi scoffed a bit, almost mocking his brother. “You mean the Prince? And did you really think they listened? They made the same face you always do when Lucifer tells you to clean the bathroom or do the dishes. The only thing different was they didn’t say ‘yeah, yeah, I hear ya’ like you normally do.”
For some reason, you were filled with sudden indignation at being compared so casually to a lazy Mammon. As the two of them started a brand new argument, you turned and prepared to throw your last shoe towards the voices. The metal was angled in such a way where you couldn’t see that side of the room hardly at all, but you didn’t care. Maybe you were being influenced too much by some desperation and emotion, but with the power of a small angry demon, you launched the shoe outwards, imagining beaning Mammon right in the back of the head.
“Ow!”
Sometimes you were too good.
“The hell’d you do?!”
“Don’t look at me!”
The two of them suddenly got really quiet, thinking at their own pace, but both eventually coming to the same conclusion. “Pssst,” Mammon hissed. “MC?”
“You don’t have to whisper, idiot, we’re the only ones in here.”
“Hey, ya’ never know!”
At this point, you should’ve probably been flailing your arms or shouting or any other normal action to set you free. However, now that you were moments away from being rescued, you were…hesitant. You really didn’t want to be seen like this… Were the three realms testing you or something? How else could you explain having to go through something so cruel?… But you couldn’t stay in here. The sheer amount of dust alone was burning your windpipe. Besides, how could you berate Lucifer if you weren’t willing to swallow your own pride when it was needed? Time to face the inevitable. Pulling yourself up a little, you waved an arm out from your spot. “Hey! Over here!”
The footsteps got closer, and you could see both humans look around for you. Mammon even had his hands held out to see if he could feel you first. “Why’re you hidin’? What’s wrong?”
You muttered ancient curses under your breath before trying to make your voice a little louder. “No! Look down! Down here!” The amount of time it took two grown humans to notice your incessant waving was far too embarrassing to recount. Maybe all your worries about being spotted by Lucifer weren’t as pressing as you first assumed.
Both of them knelt by the grate, a mix of confusion and…some other emotion you couldn’t trace was painted over their faces. Something about it irked you, though. Almost like they were sneering at you, but if it was done in a nicer way. “MC?” Levi had to ask.
“Do I look like someone else?! Get me out of here!”
Mammon took his turn to ask silly questions. “I didn’t know you could do that! Can you grow super huge too?” While he wondered that, Levi stood and apparently went off to get something to help you free.
“No!”
“What else can you do besides cloak and shrink then?”
“I can’t! This was—“
“So… This isn’t some freaky magic stuff?”
Oh, if only you weren’t so tiny, the things you would do. “No!”
“But, you can do that thing with the tail, and the horns and the teeth. You sure ya’ can’t just make yourself big again? Just try chantin’ a spell or somethin’.”
This was a headache… Taking a deep breath, gathering up your composure and urges to sink your teeth into the nearest object, you rubbed your face with both hands. “No, Mammon. I can’t… Trust me. I tried.”
The human you were addressing was seriously trying to rack his brain coming up with a solution despite only discovering magic even existed all too recently. It was cute, but a guessing game you did not have time to entertain.
Levi finally came back into view, holding a tool in his hand to get the cover off this cage. “Maybe it’s less of a skill and more like a curse?”
For a second, you almost disagreed again. Then you had to agree. That angel cursed you. “Something like that…”
After a few moments, you were finally free. You hopped up, coughing up a bit of dust as you tried to purposefully ignore the two looming figures. This pride to swallow was a bitter one. Not to mention, before you could even fully catch your bearings, the floor beneath you took a new form as it scooped around you and held you above the solid ground. It was dizzying being moved like this, catching yourself from falling backwards by moving to a quick kneeling position.
“Look’a that. You’re, like, the size of my palm.” Greed was in wonder- almost enamored- at the sight of you like this apparently. Like you were a shiny gem he was seconds away from pocketing.
The other one was occupied with trying to remove most of the dust from off your body with a very tiny brush. It was humiliating enough being this size without your usual magic or strength, but being taken care of by humans of all things… This was a new low for you. A sudden shudder down your spine made your body twitch. It was like all your nerves seized and sparked. With a quick bat of your hand, you pushed the soft bristles away from your horns. You had to quickly clear your throat and take control of this rapidly devolving situation.
“Listen, we can fix the size issue later! We have so many things going wrong at once, I don’t even know where to start!” Well, actually, yes you did, there was one thing of importance above all else. “Beel could be in danger! Stop fussing over me for one second and listen!”
That made this whole scenario a lot less entertaining. Both their faces went pale. Levi seemed lost for words. Mammon however, got serious in an instant. “What happened?”
You caught them up to speed with what happened last night starting from catching Beel slipping out of the house in the cover of dark, and ending with your shrunken adventure from Lucifer’s office to all the way here. The younger of the two humans got his voice back. “So this is, like, really terrible, isn’t it?”
“That’s what I’ve been trying to tell you! Beel is missing and Lucifer is about to find us out at any moment!” Exhausted from this all, you resigned yourself to fully sit back in Mammon’s hand. “Why does everything go so wrong so fast? It’s like I’m being tortured…” Not even a few days had passed since resolving the last incident before something was on the border of collapse again. Centuries were being shaved off of your long life. “We have to leave now!”
Mammon was already heading towards the door, shoeless and in only a tank-top and shorts. Before he could do that, Levi grabbed his arm. “H-Hold on, for just a moment.”
“Beel could be a walking popcorn chicken right now, and you wanna wait?! Screw that!”
The brewings of a bickering were starting to form, but Levi took a deep breath. “We just need a game plan, even if it’s a small one! If we go rushing in, this is bound to turn out like all the other harebrained schemes!”
“Harebrained?!” You and Mammon bristled at the same time.
“You’re far too impulsive and don’t think!” The human pointed at his older brother, then swung down at you, opening his mouth before hesitating when he caught the glowering look you gave him. “And you… d-don’t quite have human- uh- common se- instincts!” He was sweating with the moment of your raised eyebrows. “Yeah, human instincts down yet. What might make sense to you doesn’t always make sense here, so it’s important to talk about these things before jumping into it!”
Mammon cursed, scoffed, and then sighed, tapping the fingertips on his free hand together repeatedly. “Well, we better make it quick! Time is money!”
Levi nodded, moving quick and grabbing a few things to lay them out on the desk. A few you-sized plastic figures rolled around on the desk before the gamer uncorked a marker to begin his battle strategy. “We have three problems we need to solve ASAP!”
The problems themselves seemed simple enough as he talked, and part of you was tempted to think that- maybe this time- things would be solved easily. Although, too much seemed to still be up to chance. Would Beel be easily found? Was he unharmed in the first place? The humans seemed to have a sense of naive hope. It was… affecting you in ways you couldn’t yet sense.
The brothers high-fived, burning with a newfound determination. Even as Levi looked nervous, ready to run, he was drawn in by his older sibling’s perseverance. Mammon suddenly held you to Levi with a smirk on his face like he’d figured out his next new scheme. “Let’s go get our baby brother back.”

Problem number one: getting your phone back.
If all of your work ended up being undone in a single moment thanks to Lucifer’s persistence, it would be the end of everything. Out of everyone, he was the last that could figure out what you were, because as much as you hated to admit it, there was a sense of danger lingering around him. So getting that device back was top priority. Luckily you had had the magical foresight to make the thing harder to break into, but who knew if human technology and ingenuity would win out in the end?
That’s why Levi had determined it would be best for Mammon to split off from the two of you and have the House focused as his base of operations. As Lucifer’s favorite brother- according to Mammon himself- with a talent for sticky fingers, he was the best bet for handling the problem. He could search the home for Beel in the meantime in case he happened to make it back before…well, all this happened.
Problem number two: finding Beel.
The most vital of problems. You could only imagine what kind of confusion that human was facing. A tender soul like that was eagerly sought after by your kind. It was a race to find him first. So you and Levi were ready to retrace his steps. From the house, to the cemetery, and everywhere in between. It didn’t even fully matter if you were discovered as a demon by him. This time, the source of that problem was not your fault! Which led into the last problem to solve.
Problem number three: getting back to normal.
This would require both teams to accomplish their tasks. Both getting your phone back and finding Beel so that quack of an angel could undo what his cake had caused!
Even just thinking about it made you seethe. Work together on D.A.R.? He was making things so much harder for you! Where was he in all of this? While you lived in the Morningstar home, trying your best to do a thousand things at once, he had the time to scheme and make magic cakes? All you wanted to do was get back to your regular size and wipe that smirk off his face.
Maybe force feed him his own cake and shove him in a pocket and see what it was like!
Because this was the worst!
If you thought being jostled around in a bag was torture enough, nothing topped the constant sway and shake of being in a pocket. Especially the pocket of someone as shaky as Levi.
“Oh, but I forgot to grab a flashlight! What if we end up being out all night and can’t see him?” The pocket swayed heavy in one direction. “Ugh! But if I go back now, I’ll be losing precious time!” Back the opposite direction.
If you were holding onto any more cake, now was about the time to get rid of it.
“Levi!” You couldn’t help but punch him a bit through the fabric of his clothes.
His flinch was so severe, you felt it in your own body. It was as if he had forgotten about you entirely. Muttering some stuff under his own breath, he padded straight for a while till he came to an abrupt stop. All of a sudden, a massive hand plucked you out of your hiding spot. Your skin prickled as instincts told you to chomp, but you held yourself back.
He pulled you out in what appeared to be an alleyway. Blue locks swayed back and forth in front of his eyes as his head swiveled to make sure there were no people or cameras around. “Levi,” you called, trying to get him to pay attention. It took saying his name a few more times before he listened. “Don’t be so anxious.”
Somehow, those supporting words earned you a glare. “Oh, yes, because saying that is so helpful.”
“I simply thought I should give you words of encouragement. Don’t be anxious. Go get it done. Be victorious.” You tilted your head slightly, lifting a closed fist in solidarity, ignoring that irksome expression you couldn’t describe once again.
A heavy sigh left his lungs. “Listen, I don’t know how they do things in hell—“
“The Devildom.”
“…That. But it’s not very encouraging to be told to do or not to do things based on something I have no control over. My brother is missing, you’re stuck like this, Lucifer getting angry is scary, that Prince guy getting angry is scary, and it’s up to me and Mammon to fix these things? How am I not supposed to get anxious?!”
You hummed a little, trying to see things from his point of view, but it was difficult to relate. “Well…how do I best encourage a human?”
“Everyone is different, but…I guess just using empathy.”
“Asking a demon to use empathy, really?”
“You wanted to know!” He shook his head and motioned to put you down in the pocket again. “Just forget about it…”
If there was one thing you wanted right now, it was not going back in that thing. So, mostly as a preventative measure, you spoke up to stop him. “Hold on! I can give it a proper try.” You sighed a bit in relief as he straighted you back out in an open palm. Then you thought for a moment. Empathy… So, you just had to relate and use words based off of that? You had almost done that before, when you spoke about losing someone important to you anytime Mammon had brought up words of his sister. If you used that as a reference, could you call the feeling that stirred in your gut when you couldn’t find your special one way back when anxiousness? Then, if that were the case, maybe you could say a thing or two about it. “We will find him,” you started to say. “Beel seems rather resilient, doesn't he? And even if we end up having to get your other brothers involved, or even the Prince, his safety takes importance over my mission. We’ll find him.”
Levi stood in silence for a moment, mulling over your words. A sudden blush popped up on both of his cheeks. “I-I guess that’s better. But wasn’t the best, so I’m only giving it a C+!”
Ignoring what a letter had to do with anything, you frowned. “That was extremely good, what're you talking about?”
“You almost had it, but then lost points by saying we could ruin your mission, which makes me stressed out too. I don’t want to see you get in trouble.”
These humans were awfully confusing creatures. “Why would you care so much about something that doesn’t concern you?”
“It does concern me! Because- Because… I thought we were friends and tied with the p-pact and stuff…”
Right. You forgot how much humans were pack animals. They existed by living in groups of families and worked to ever still bring more people into their lives. Quite the opposite of demons. A sign of growth and strength was true independence. Which shocked you to hear that Lifia was working with two other demons. Maybe there was something true about that myth about strength in numbers. “I do not know what one must do to become a…friend.”
Awkwardness filled his body as he shifted and couldn’t quite look at you. “Well, friends talk to each other, hang out, and do stuff with each other. B-but, we can talk about that later! I think I feel better now…thank you. “
“You’re welcome. But don’t you dare put me in that pocket again.” You pointed towards the hood hanging behind his head. “Put me there instead.” He begrudgingly listened to you, placing you in the sturdier fabric near his neck. It didn’t sway as frantically, and it would be easier talking to him from here if you needed to. From there, Levi set off again, your search for Beel officially beginning.
You both started in the Cemetery. With it being daytime, it seemed no one had to hop a fence. The human walked for a while, stopped at his sister’s grave, and said a few words before putting you in the grass and letting you get the plant-sized view while he searched from above. It felt like miles were walked and hours had passed before you both came to the conclusion that he likely wasn’t there. Besides, you had been with him when he walked away from the fence. He was bound to be somewhere else.
Levi followed a list both he and Mammon had come up with, stopping at several places. A nearby café that opened in the early hours of morning, Beel’s favorite gym, a parking lot that normally had a truck that sold fruits, a grocery store, and several restaurants. Levi asked the questions while you did your best to sneak around and not get caught. You certainly had been stuck with the more stressful job. And yet where were your words of encouragement, huh? Still, your efforts had found you nothing. Not even a crumb of evidence. The day had all but been spent, the sun setting down and painting the sky in an marigold hue. The search party was losing steam, but finally, Levi had stopped in a local park.
“He comes here to jog a lot, and to feed the ducks in the pond over there. It’s a…pretty large place to search, but…if he could be here…” His words drifted, as if he was even losing the energy to fully share his thoughts.
“Maybe message Mammon then? Let him know to come help. He should be done with his tasks by now. If we tackle it together, it shouldn’t be so daunting.” As you were speaking, Levi pulled you out of his hood and down on the ground. After settling you in the grass, he grabbed his phone.
“You’re right. Let me do that.”
While he was doing that, you’d get somewhat started. You headed a little away from the human and towards the shade of some trees, keeping an eye out for anything suspicious. It was mostly empty here. Off in the distance, you could see a human couple walking a small canine. A few elderly stood at the outskirts of the previously mentioned pond and threw some small green things into the water. The more you walked into the protection of the trees, the less you saw of the world around you. It was pretty private here, a good place to hide if you needed.
Then pain filled your body.
Something snatched you up from the ground, ensnaring you in a death grip. You hissed in agony as your vision was turned towards an infamous grinning face. One of the demons from before who had worked with Lifia. The poisonous one. The other demon had called him Bazz or something? He was as ugly as ever, with a new scar sporting over a whitened eye.
You couldn’t even sense him! Was it because of the state you were in? To be totally blindsided by this… “Y-You!” The air in your lungs was easily pushed out from your body. Already you could feel the creaking of your limbs and bones, knowing that if you were to be crushed any tighter they would start snapping. Although, you didn’t let that deter you from your usual apathetic attitude. Worse than dying would be letting this scum have the joy of seeing you beg in your suffering. “Ha-Had to wait till…I was like this before- ugh- before you could have the…upper hand, huh?”
Slightly tighter, and you could see spots in your vision. “Are you really surprised a demon played dirty? Ha!” His eyes narrowed at you. “You’re weirder than I thought.” He stuck his tongue out from his mouth, the vibrant saliva dripping down and sizzling across his own skin. “Once I deal with you, those humans will be mine to devour! Every part of them. You should be thankful I wont let any bit go to waste.”
“MC!” Suddenly noticing your predicament, Levi started moving his feet, sprinting on some sort of instinct. Bazz easily knocked him back with the back of an arm, sending him rolling back over the ground, hitting the dirt and the roots of one of the trees hard. Dazed, it took him a while to stand back up. Even from here, you could see a small thin trickle of blood coming down from his hairline. Something about the sight stirred some old archaic emotion inside you, threatening to send it bubbling up to the surface.
“GO! Get back to the house!”
“I…I won’t!” Stupid, stubborn human! With the bravery at all the wrong times!
Bazz found this all too pleasing, licking his lips as his eyes glimmered with Gluttony. “Maybe I’ll indulge myself right now, and let the little imp watch.” Now, instead of keeping the human back, he lunged. You were squeezed hard enough to toy with your consciousness. But despite that, you wouldn’t go down without protecting your human in every way you could. You dug your teeth into his flesh, feeling some of the poison that ran through their veins enter your mouth. It hurt enough to stall him apparently for just a moment. You caught the glimpse of fear on Levi’s face.
And then you caught glimpse of a blur.
Within a second, you found yourself flung in the air. You hardly had time to steel yourself before you felt your shrunken frame slam against the earth. The environment flickered in your view, as your mind was ready to shut itself down completely. But you couldn’t let it. You pushed yourself up, hardly standing above the tall grass, only able to take in a few seconds of information in at a time.
Bazz growled and sprung up, hardly hurt but clearly frazzled. Then darkness. You pulled yourself back out of it and caught a large shadow encroaching over you before being picked up by large hands. The lift made your vision warble. You bit your lip and forced yourself to focus. Levi was off in the distance, his eyes wide as his mouth moved to form words that you couldn’t fully hear. Wait… Levi? If this wasn’t him, and not the demon, who was… You turned your body and looked up.
Beel shook his other hand, his knuckles bruised but not broken. His eyes narrowed, his muted expression still contorted with fury. “Don’t touch them!”
A twitching smirk popped up on the demon’s face. With petty glee, he pounced on Levi, claws poised to tear the human to shreds. You and Beel shouted his name at the same time. The youngest sibling sprinted forward and kicked Bazz hard in the ribs. Even for being a human, it caused the attacker to hiss and jump on the bigger threat instead, knocking you both down. Soon it was a mess of limbs, even Levi tugging at the demon’s clothes to do whatever he could to protect his little brother. You scrambled up and prepared to rip Bazz’s eyes out. But before you could do that, a sudden light shone off to the side.
The white was blinding, causing both you and the demonic assassin to cover your face in anguish. You fell down on Beel’s chest and tried to ignore the burning sensation. It clenched your throat and made it difficult to breathe, to think, to do anything. Two large hands curved over you, trying to shield you from the light.
Bazz rolled off Beel's body, thudding to the ground. "Back again, you bastard?! I'll kill you! And then I'll go after your human master too!"
The last thing you heard was Levi shouting his brother’s name…

“Please!”
The emotion tore at your chest, ripping you apart on the inside.
“…”
You had to. He had to.
“I’ll do anything!”
“Anything?… Even if it meant ______?”
That wasn’t even a question. Of course you would. Over and over and over again. In every moment, in every life, you would.
“Yes… Please… I don’t care if ___________! They were the only reason why I’m who I am today… With them gone, I… I won’t be the same regardless… Even if I lose ______, they need me! Besides, maybe one day, past several lifetimes, I can ____________.“
“Very well. Today we both break the rules. All for a human. Goodbye, __________”
A gentle touch startled you out of your dream. Although you had the sneaking suspicion that you would’ve jolted awake regardless. Impulse flared the word ‘danger’ in your mind, and you swiped your claws at your attacker before you could even register them. Even before the blur in front of you compiled into being, you smelt the distinct scent of human blood.
“Oh, sorry… I didn’t mean to startle you.” The tone was far too understanding for the fact that you’d just broken skin.
As the hair prickling at the back of your neck calmed itself, you blinked, confused and…embarrassed. “Beel…” Images of the scene you could recall from before replayed in your mind before they stopped abruptly. You couldn’t remember how you got here. Where even was here, now that you were looking at it?
At first glance, it fooled you into thinking you were still at the park. Large lush trees shielded you from the warm light above. They rustled pleasantly, harmonizing with the soft blanket of vibrant grass coating the fields and hills. The fluffy clouds above rolled lazily, giving off a comforting glow. Playful flowers swayed back and forth in their beckoning, luring visitors to skip down the path they were outlining. Despite being in a compromising position- your identity and form being shown to yet another human- all you could feel was a lingering peace. A persistent, possessive, and invasive sort of peace. Therein lied the proverbial rub.
This wasn’t the human realm.
And fortunately as much as unfortunately, your new human companion seemed to sense the same thing. “Do you know where we are?”
You sighed, sizing- again, mind another pun- the human up. Even being the way you were now, you could tell Gluttony was much bigger than his brothers. And that wasn’t to say just on the larger side of humankind. No. You meant significantly bigger. Enlarged. Quite poetic, in a way.
While Solomon’s cake had shrunken you, it had grown Beel.
In Mammon and Levi’s hold before, you were about the length of a full hand. In Beel’s case, you would be lucky if you were the size of one of his fingers. His hair was brushing up against the branches and leaves of the trees. His voice made your own bones rattle. And the cut you had given him before was so small it was already healing. If anything, it explained how he had held up against a demon for as long as he did. However, it still didn’t explain where you were.
“In a manner of speaking,” you finally answered. Silence filled the air then, giving him some time to ask questions. Surprisingly, he never did, so you asked one in turn. “Do you remember anything before waking up here?”
Beel’s face scrunched ever so slightly as he racked his brain. If he weren’t so dangerously large at the moment, you’d almost have considered it endearing. It was quite like how Mammon always cracked his mouth open in thought, or like how Levi bit the corner of his lip, or even how Lucifer— You nearly violently shook your head. Human quirks were just comical at best. Nothing else. How much influence did this place have over your thoughts? Luckily, Beel spoke up to distract you from your own mind. “I remember fighting that guy, and then grabbing you, and then nothing till I woke up here. I was going to grab Levi, but…” He looked around, as if still keeping his eye out for his missing brother.
“He’s…not here.” Somehow you could say that with certainty. Whether you’d become accustomed to his soul or the pact had forged stronger connections than you thought, you couldn’t tell. The only thing you could decipher was…severance. It was like you were cut off from both pact-mates. Even the small fragment of vitality and sin that should’ve been flowing through your veins was stifled. Those personalized bits of Greed and Envy were being drowned out by the roaring silence of Isolation. It was…almost startling in its loneliness. You should’ve been accustomed to such things, but it was almost as if you had gotten used to a new normal in this relatively short time amongst those humans. But, you couldn’t waste your time thinking about that for too long.
Your world shifted as Beel pushed himself up to his feet, curling his hand so you stayed secure. “Do you know how to get out of here?”
With a wistful sigh, you shook your head. Stuck in another place, were you? Was this going to become a pattern? “Haven’t the foggiest.” Once again, the magic of the environment eased your anxiety about your identity. Before you could control yourself, your lips were excited to spill well-kept secrets. “Looks Celestial to me, and I’ve never been there before.”
“Celestial?” Beel hummed, “Like heaven? Are we dead?” A rather calm way to ask such a desperate question…
“If we were, I wouldn’t be here.” With a shrug, you pointed towards the ground below. “Even if I was sent here by mistake, I’m sure divine spears would be raining down on me by now to send me back to where I came from. I’m not exactly welcomed near those glittery gates. So, I figure this must be a figment or copy of that realm.”
The human simply uttered a simple “ah” like he understood everything you were saying before stretching his neck from side to side. It was hard to tell if he was also feeling the influence of the area or if he was just naturally a bit calmer than the others. Beel gestured to the path of flowers. “Should I follow these?”
“Could be a trap.”
“Hm. I don’t feel like they are.”
“Go where you want then,” you nodded. A little flourish of the hand motioned to your own body, beaten and bruised and bitty. “I’m not exactly built for travel like this. I’ll go wherever you decide.”
Suddenly, a large fingertip came down, patting you on the head and almost skewering itself on your horns in the process. “Don’t worry, I’ll take care of you.”
A flash of annoyance cropped up in you for a split second. “I’m much older than you, you know.”
His head tilted just a little, looking genuinely befuddled by that. “Does that change anything?”
A rather humiliating noise of shock clamped down in your throat. You were silent for the next long while as he walked. He was right about that. Nothing you could say or do really changed your position for the time being. Small, nearly magic-less, and exhausted, there wasn’t much of a fight you could put up. If that previous scuffle had proven anything, it was that…right now you were at the mercy of everyone else. It was a blow so low, it left you breathless. Up until now, you were happy to deny the truth, but now there was no fooling yourself. This human… Beel… was your protector.
A demon relying on human protection while you were in somewhere that looked like the Celestial Realm? What kind of topsy-turvey reality was this? The facts repeated over and over in your mind and forced a foreign warmth to brush across your cheeks as Beel continuously ducked his head to avoid branches and the like. You rubbed at your skin in an attempt to snuff out the fire in your body, but it didn’t work.
Beel followed the outline of flowers down deeper into this grove of trees. Both of you remained silent, but it didn’t feel awkward. If anything, it was almost…nice… For what reason, you couldn’t describe. Perhaps you could almost sleep like this, and let the responsibility be on someone else’s shoulders for a while. Everything was out of your hands. You closed your eyes and felt the tension leave your body for a while. You managed to get a little bit of rest until you felt the human stop in his tracks. When you opened your eyes, a strange sight sent a chill down your spine.
Several doors stood upright, scattered throughout the place. Wood, metal, glass, gold, silver, diamond; any material and color you could think of, any design, and it was here. It reminded you awfully of a graveyard. Each door seemed to represent something, eerie in their rigid stillness.
Of course, that was juxtaposed with a sight you did not expect to see in a place like this.
A long table coated in a lacy tablecloth sat at the end of the flower-path. Shiny silver dish-wares were spread across it, glinting in the soft light. And as expected, on top of every dish was a heaping pile of foods. Pastas, pizzas, pies, cakes, casseroles, and crepes, human food of nearly every kind was packed on every square inch of surface. Slurping could be heard above you, and as much as you suddenly feared getting wet, you couldn’t blame him. Just from the smell alone, you could almost feel hungry too, which was something you hardly felt anymore.
Yet, several bells were ringing in your mind. The human known as Gluttony was led to a royal feast? “Beel, I know it looks tempting but—“
“Welcome.”
A smooth voice sent those alarms blaring louder. The demon? No. The voice was much too calm to match. But you could smell Bazz…could smell his blood. You turned your head behind you, but was blocked from sight by Beel’s massive body.
“You must be Beel, right? Please, take a seat. While you’re at it, why don’t you hand me that demon so I can…take care of them for you?”

What We Gain/Book 1/Levi x Reader, Chapter 1, Trost
Masterlist

Pairing: Levi Ackerman x F!Reader
Summary: One moment, you and the Levi squad are out on a mission and then the next, you are all fighting in Trost to protect not only the Cadet Corp, but the citizens too
WC: 2.1k
Rating: Mature/Gore/Eventual smut
A/n: Hi! Hope you all enjoy. Please check out my masterlist, there's a lot of stuff there. You can get to know me, you can see the rules of my blog and then you can see all of my fanfictions. You'll be able to find the previous chapters to this fic and upcoming ones. You'll also be able to find my Wattpad & AO3. Comments, reblogs & likes are appreciated. Thank you
That all too familiar fierce look overcame your face. It's your battle stare. All that remains on your mind is 'kill or be killed' and you'd rather commit to the first option. All that matters in moments like these is yourself and the safety of others - and of course-killing these bastards called Titans. You can't wait to slice the napes of these bad boys.
Not even ten minutes ago, you and the Levi squad were out on a mission alongside captain Erwin and commander Hange among others, it was just a simple wall sweep and now, you must defend Trost. That damn Colossal Titan made an appearance again from what you've overheard and it's a sickening thing to hear. You figured that since five years have passed, the fucker would've died or disappeared. Of course you just had to be wrong.
Getting off of your horse-her name is Vera - you and the others left them behind near the East side of Wall Rose, just a bit from Trost. The last thing you all need is for your horses to be injured in some way. Levi set his horse beside yours, Oluo left his by Levi's and so on. It's just the five of you on this mission, amongst others such as Hange's squad which is a lower ranked squad beneath Levi's. His has always had the highest appraisal.
Hange got off of her horse and walked over to you while gazing at the bright blue sky and all of the rundown yet stable (most) buildings of the outer parts of Trost. "Ready for this? Been a minute, hm?" Hange asked you in her regular high pitched voice. You chuckled, "I'm ready. Always ready for the action." You responded, checking on your blades & ODM gear. It needs to constantly be in commission. If it isn't, you're done for.
Levi glared at both you and Hange before making a growl to himself. "Do you two want to die? Move it." Were his words before he suddenly flew up into the sky. At least his gear is working. You nodded to yourself and looked at Hange. "Be safe." You muttered to her in a low voice. "I always am, don't wo-" She stopped speaking as you suddenly took off after Levi, Petra by your side.
You felt the cool breeze blow against your face and body. It made you shiver. It wasn't just due to the cold, but your nerves as well. You may be a scout, yes, but you can't deny that your adrenaline is always pumping and you can have your nervous moments. But working for Levi, you better hide it and hide it well. He doesn't like slackers. You've had your fair share of his lectures and he doesn't let you off easy. He's only let you off easy once-you had your fair share of luck that day.
Each of you came in from different angles as you landed on a roughened up brown roof. You were sure it belonged to a random shop in town. Officially, this is the center of Trost.
Petra said something to Levi but you couldn't quite make it out. All you heard from him was orders for you to follow. "You go opposite of me, so left. Take out any titans you see, got it?" "Yes!" You replied in a loud tone before boosting yourself off of the roof. You saw Levi immediately going in for some kills. He doesn't mess around.
On your left, you only saw one titan. It was short with brown hair. It was an ugly motherfucker, you could hardly bear to stare at the thing. This is what you've trained for; Killing these little shits. You find joy in it, actually. Let's you blow off steam and release all of your lividness that buries deep within you. You're still very careful. One wrong move and you're dead. A Titan could chomp you up in seconds and you wouldn't even be able to comprehend that you've been eaten.
You connected your ODM gear to the Titan before swooping down and slicing its nape. You did it twice for good measure. The Titan fell to its knees. One down, most likely more to go.
In your peripheral view, you saw Eld and Oulo taking out a few bigger Titans. They are doing the dirty work. Levi only had two to handle. You couldn't see anymore from the left.
You looked around from all angles. Damn, did the cadet corps really handle most of the Titans? You hope some of these talented kiddos choose the scout regiment. It'll benefit both parties. You remember when you were just a teenager, living it high and free in the cadet corps. You didn't even know how fucking easy you had it. These kids won't realize it unless they join the scouts. The MP's and Garrisons have it easy as hell compared to what you and the others endure daily.
Retreating to a nearby rooftop, what caught your attention was saddening. The sight was Levi & Petra along with a fallen soldier. He seemed to be taking his last breaths. Levi was holding his hands and giving him what seemed to be a pep talk. You sighed deeply. It's never nice to see this happen. So often casualties happen and there's nothing you can do. Luckily the success rate of people living has increased. That's a sign, right?
You then saw Commander Erwin show up on his white horse. You had wondered where he had gone off too. Numerous of the right hand men were with him as well. You studied Levi's face and could tell it was one of displeasure. Erwin must've said something that irked him. You used your ODM gear to fly down by Petra and Levi. They didn't really acknowledge you and were too embedded by Erwin's words.
You listened in as well.
-
The sky has a darker tint now. The moon will eventually make its way opposite of where the sun once was. The sun is slowly beginning to set. There's still daylight out and that makes it easier to see and work. You've received intell about a young boy-Eren Yeager. It's all kind of a blur but from what you've been able to gather, he's a Titan! This made your blood boil. He must be eradicated immediately.
When you brought up ending the kid's life, Commander Erwin was quick to shut your statement down. "According to our Commander, we must keep the boy alive." That made you confused. Very puzzled. Why are we trying to keep a Titan alive? Levi had the same reaction.
Now, just you and Levi are heading towards your horses.
"Why are we keeping a Titan alive?" Levi grumbled to himself. You looked over at him and sighed. "Beats me." You scoffed. "You'd think Erwin would be with us." "You should know better. He has to do anything Pyxis wants him to do and plus, he just will." You nodded. "Yes. You're right." He isn't wrong. Erwin and Pyxis go way back.
You watched as Levi hoisted himself onto his horse and was clearly ready for action. "Where are you off to?" "To help the Garrison regiment, and to see what all of the fuss is about. How about you rendezvous with the rest of the others? I'll see you later." He said softly. "Okay. See you then." You waved goodbye. Levi began to trot away on his horse to put him somewhere safer and so that he could protect this Titan boy.
Gazing at Vera, you caressed her fur. "We best get going girl." You mounted her, tugging on her reins. "Hiyah!" She then began to trot you off to safety. You hope Levi will be okay.
-
You can't exactly recall what time it is, only that it is late. You've heard very little about what's all going down but from what Eld let you in on, Erwin & Levi are on their way to visit this Eren boy. Eren is currently in the custody of the Military Police. You don't know why entirely, probably because he could be a danger to society and its citizens. It's for the best, you presume.
Today has been a rather exhausting one. You've been awake since the crack of dawn, training and now literally battling Titans. Being a scout, especially under Captain Levi isn't an easy task, but you handle it with grace. You can't wait to hit the hay and seek rest. Oddly enough though, you can't get Levi off of your mind.
You suppose that isn't uncommon for you. He has always peaked your curiosity. He's just been different today, less strict and more on edge. Guess you can't complain though, it has made you feel less stressed and more focused on the duty at hand. Whenever Levi is yelling at you all and throwing out orders, you get overwhelmed so today was surprisingly one of the best from these past two years.
You were a part of the Cadet Corps for three years total. Now you've been with the scouts for about two years. A good five years like this will change you as a person. You never expected to join the scouts, joining the military police was your original idea. What changed your mind was meeting Hange and Erwin. They are rather convincing. You were in the top two of your group and they saw you fit for the scouts.
That's just about how this all began.
You weren't with Levi at first either. You were working under Hange, hence why you two are so close now. Only about six months ago did Erwin come to you about a squad change.
Flashback:
"I just think it would suit you better to work under Captain Levi Ackerman." Levi? That man is a bum from what you've heard. A total asshole. "What's wrong with Hange? I enjoy working under her." "That's the thing, you enjoy it. You shouldn't. You don't enjoy work." You scoffed at Erwin but quickly checked yourself. "Sir, with all due respect, don't you think enjoying your captain or commander will enable you to have a better work life?" You got him there.
"Starting next week, you will be working under Captain Levi." Erwin said sternly. You sighed deeply and nodded. "Yes sir. I understand." You then stood up. "I have one question." "Ask." "Why am I suddenly being switched to his squad?" "Is this a matter of wanting an ego boost?" What the hell did that mean? You turned around to face him, your eyebrows crinkling in confusion. "Mind my manners but what are you talking about?" Erwin chuckled at your words.
"You are aware that you are far too skilled to just be on Hange's squad, yes?" "Not really?" You laughed in confusion. You are lost here. "Hange has a great team, sure, but Levi's is for the elites. That is where you belong." Not going to lie, this was an ego boost; You weren't seeking it out though. "Oh... I see..." You nodded leisurely. "Go get some rest, it's late." Were Erwin's final words before he shooed you out of his personal office.
You closed the door behind you and rubbed your temples.
Please let all of the rumors about Captain Levi be dramatic.
End Flashback:
You swung open the door to the barracks. You walked into your room and immediately crashed onto the bed. You can feel how tired your legs are. Here at the HQ for the Survey Corps, the females and males have separate housing. Each person gets their own tiny bedroom, but they all share a bathroom. It's annoying but it's easy to deal with, especially being a female where you're all organized and prepped unlike the men around here.
You didn't even remove your gear. You just laid there in your uniform and everything. There was no reason to remove it. It'll be right back on tomorrow. Besides, you're too fatigued to take the time to remove it. You could feel your eyes beginning to flutter and falter until you then fell asleep.
Hitting the hay alas.

Obey me! Shall we date? Brothers cuddle scenarios
Lucifer:
As you curled up on Lucifer's plush couch in the Devildom, he draped a cozy blanket over both of you. His typically stern expression softened as he pulled you close, whispering, "In the stillness of the night, your presence brings a warmth that rivals the fires of Hell. I find solace in these moments with you."
Mammon:
In Mammon's room, surrounded by stacks of treasures, you and Mammon found a makeshift nest of pillows. Mammon, normally boastful, turned surprisingly tender, holding you close. "Oi, don't get used to this or anything! Just, uh, happenin' 'cause ya insisted, got it?" Yet, his grip tightened ever so slightly, betraying his true feelings.
Leviathan:
In Leviathan's gaming den, amidst the glow of screens and figurines, you and Levi shared a cozy gaming session. As you snuggled into his side, he blushed, "W-well, I guess this isn't too bad. As long as it doesn't interfere with my gaming schedule, I suppose cuddling can be an acceptable activity."
Satan:
In the Devildom's library, surrounded by ancient tomes, you and Satan sat together. His usually serious demeanor softened as he cradled a book in one hand and you in the other. "Books offer knowledge, but your presence offers a different kind of enlightenment. It's a chapter I look forward to reading each day," he confessed with a gentle smile.
Asmodeus:
In Asmodeus's glam room, surrounded by mirrors and beauty products, you and Asmo found a quiet corner. He busied himself with adjusting your hair, all the while saying, "Darling, cuddling is an art. It's all about finding the perfect angle. You want to look as fabulous as possible, even when you're just relaxing."
Beelzebub:
In the House of Lamentation's kitchen, where Beel often sought solace in food, you and Beel shared a quiet moment. He held you close, his attention momentarily diverted from the snacks. "You're my comfort food, you know? Just being near you feels like a feast for the soul," he admitted with a contented smile.
Belphegor:
In the tranquility of Belphegor's room, you and Belphie found yourselves entangled in a mess of blankets. Belphie, usually the one to appreciate his solitude, whispered, "You're the exception to my desire for uninterrupted sleep. Your presence makes dreaming worthwhile." The soft rustle of the blankets accompanied the lullaby of his affectionate words.

LONNG AWAITED ELTINGVILLE CLUB HEADCANONS!!!
I’m a fiend for these guys so lemme share my thoughts with a crowd that’s actually interested in what I have to say!!
PETE DINUNZIO
- You can’t tell me this guy doesn’t play hack n slash games. He’s gotta be a sucker for DOOM, especially Postal 💔 I have a feeling this guy makes crazy foreign references to the games and the guys have NO IDEA what he’s saying
- I know Pete wore a Danzig tshirt in “Bring Me The Head of Boba Fett” but I think he’d also really like death metal. He’d go into a mall and jab at nu metal fans, basically the embodiment of “name five songs”
-!!HAS A SECRET MYSPACE ACCOUNT AND ONLY HAS JERRY ON HIS TOP FRIENDS LIST!!!
- I have a feeling that Pete’s a sucker for spicy food. He’s definitely that kid in class who’s eating hot chips at 7am😔
-Probably owns a copy of Diablo and claims to play the game to the last drop, in reality he only got through one map and got fed up with the camera angle. (Still buys merch tho)
-A FREAK. I know, I know they’re all freaks, but this guy’s just weird. You could be minding your own business and he’d come up to you and ask you the filthiest questions ever. Claims that his friends “dared him to”, but they’re far from affiliated with his raging hormones. You probably couldn’t go a day without him tugging on your arm looking for attention..
-Probably sneaks into their high school’s band room to play their snare drums, has been caught by the director and reported more times than he could count. (Surprisingly enough, he’s not too bad!)
- LOVES showing shock media to random students in class. You could be working on anything and he wouldn’t even tap you on the shoulder or on your desk, he’d just hold his stupid flip phone out and show you the lowest quality video while giggling like an idiot. Gross.
JOSH LEVY 😍😍
- I had to knock this one out cause I have a LOT to say about Josh…(forgive me)
-Secretly indulges in “girly” media. He loves all things deemed cutesy..especially MLP and magical girl animes. Although he tries to cover this interest up with his sci-fi collection and collection of comic books that could make anyone crumble beneath its weight, he has a small collection of mangas and MLP toys stashed in a box under his bed. Some nights he sits in bed and fixes the pony’s hair and giggles at their features, or just leans back and relaxes while flipping through an issue of Cardcaptor Sakura. The guys have yet to learn about this little secret, and if they did? Josh would lose his mind.
-LOVES legos. Like, majority of his holiday gifts are either comics, collectables, or one big lego set. If the guys cared just a little bit more about what he’d been up to, Josh could rant for hours about his favorite sets. Death Star? Check. Some big stupid flower bouquet for his mom? Check. The list goes on
-If it wasn’t already obvious, given his binge eating and all, Josh has a MAJOR oral fixation. Do not ask to borrow a pen or pencil, chances are he’s been gnawing on it for the past eight weeks. He’s tried chewing gum or hard candies to keep himself from gnawing on his pens of the inside of his mouth, but it never works.
-Considering Evan Dorkin’s post about all of the boys having abusive parents, Josh is one of the worst when it comes to managing his anger. Chances are he never really had an outlet to cope (other than eating), so he’s very, very quick to anger. I like to believe that part of the reason why he keeps his hair tied back in a pony tail is because he’s had a habit of tugging on it out of pure frustration. If he isn’t shouting or hurling insults at someone, he’s hurting himself.
-A BEAST at anything science or math related. If you’re struggling in either of those topics, you better hope Josh likes you. Sure, he claims that he’s great at writing, he loves to use library computers to type up pathetic fanfics, but his knowledge of science and mathematics outweigh that by a mile. He LOVES chemistry, if you’re on his good side he’d spill all sorts of facts about stoichiometry, molecular structures, or anything that you need help with. (If you want to ace a test, you better listen to those rants…)
- As religious as his family is, I’m not too sure if Josh enjoys visiting the local synagogue. He probably struggles to fit in with the other Jewish kids, leaving him to awkwardly twiddle his thumbs and pray that maybe, just maybe, it isn’t gay to find Super Boy cute.
-Horrible at cooking, but surprisingly good at baking?? Sometimes he makes cookies using his mother’s old recipe book, takes great pride in keeping the family tradition alive (even if the cookies are borderline raw)
I LOVE WRITING THESE, IF Y’ALL WANT A PART 2 WITH BILL N JERRY LET ME KNOW!!

It's been a while since I read your story and sadly I come here today as a hater: I'm afraid you're not cooking with this romance storyline with Robin. Seeing him kiss Aster was the weirdest thing because he's the most asexual character I've seen in a while. You joked how people didn't believe Robin would get a smooch but it's still not believable, at least not to me. Sorry, but I'm not eating what you're serving. I hope you don't take this badly. But if you do, you have the right to kill me.
There's also something that gave me pause: the reveal that Penny cheated on Levi once and will likely do it again, and probably with Jacob since she has a crush on him.
I just can't see Jacob entertaining Penny. First, Jacob would never accept Levi's sloppy seconds. And second, I think Jacob has an arrogant side that would clash with Penny's attitude of thinking highly of herself. "I'm too good for you" is what I see coming from him regarding her. He's a womaniser but he has taste, and Penny is rotten to the bone like Victoria. And because they're teenagers, Jacob ridiculing Penny as an indirect jab towards Levi would be so realistically petty. There's nothing quite like hitting your enemies from all angles. I'm sure Bruno taught him that. And with Levi being such a doormat, it seems it'll take somebody else to put that girl in her place and knock her down a few pegs.
And Penny's reaction to being rejected for the first time would be a sight. It's what she deserves.
And speaking of Bruno, he must come back! Ivan and Francesca are cute I guess but Brivan is still the 5-star dish and I like the spice Bruno brings to your story. Imagine if Francesca's crazy ex turns out to be an actual problem and Ivan had the bright idea of hitting up Bruno when he realised he couldn't handle the guy? "We split because I wanted to return to this life and you didn't, but now you come here asking the mafia to get involved in your life again so we can help you sort out a guy...? You've lost your mind. You and your woman just need to go to the police like everyone else with an abusive partner. Now get out." but then think twice when he meets the guy in question when he contacts Bruno's family to buy an illegal firearm from them, babbling how he's going to "fix" his ex's new boyfriend and get her and his son back. Initially, he'd be hurt Ivan only sought him for the sake of his new girlfriend, but Bruno will be damned if anything happened to the man who owns his heart and their little daughter. And we know he doesn't mind getting his hands dirty, huh? :3c
Hmmmm maybe you're not wrong to refuse what I'm serving! Maybe it was made in a shitty diner by a jaded cook who didn't wash their hands and thought rat droppings were sprinkles?? FFFFFFF.. no but I get it, Robin and Levi's plan kinda sucked from the get go and him kissing Aster like that was pretty uncharacteristic.. but alas he is a teenage boy with bad decision making skills and false bravado from his little gift, so here we are.
I will say that he's definitely not asexual tho and if I have, I didn't mean to give off that vibe for him.. believe me, most of these teens, including Robin, are thinking and (sometimes) acting on thoughts right now, wink wonk (hell, I know I was at that age) but it's not something I particularly feel like being too graphic about since they're still teens y'know? I've mostly just implied or alluded to such things when necessary, so my bad if that's not coming off too well, but rather that than be too crass.
I may have joked about Penny cheating on Levi with Jacob, and she definitely would if given the chance, but I think you're right that Jacob wouldn't be interested in her, she's far too high maintenance for him and he'd totally be against the idea of touching Levi's seconds like.. no thx! 🫣 I would love to see her try and get shot down for sure tho, that'd be hilarious!! Someone needs to take her down a peg or two one day! Part of me hopes it IS Levi who does so, but we'll have to see.
Hmmm hmmm hm.. Bruno! As much as I still love Brivan I don't think there's even a slight chance Ivan would ever go to him for help, especially since he went back to that life, even if he thought it'd help. He's so against everything it stands for.. it almost took his life, Oscar's in a roundabout way, Cookie's?! and it DID suck Bruno back in, he's waaay too stubborn and proud as well like, Bruno fucking left him for THAT? Are you kidding??? Fuck crawling back to him for ANYTHING, nope. he'd never! Now, that's not to say Bruno wouldn't jump in without Ivan's permission but (and I'll let you off for this cos we don't know Lee too well) he's way too much of a coward to take matters into his own hands like that. He's just not dealing with losing Frankie/Sawyer in a very healthy way, hence the bullshit spewing from his mouth. He's probably asleep on the job or some shit atm, not buying firearms from Kaden n' co. in Oasis Springs, however exciting that may be.
All that being said, I hope you still like the direction I go with all these threads, because they ARE all going somewhere. We're just dealing with people who don't always make the best decisions at the end of the day and that's what makes this stuff interesting to me! We don't always have to like the path or the choices these guys make but hopefully they all learn something along the way! Or not, I guess? That's also fun sometimes lmao 🤸♀️

Drabble Prompt: Post-canon Levi, struggling with chronic pain and mourning his dead loved ones, being visited by his still alive loved ones
Anon, you knew how to talk pretty to me <3
hihi requests are still open btw
I feel like I gotta put a disclaimer or something lmao. So, the length of my drabble requests is usually something between 100-400 words. This request is just an incredibly unexpected exception. it just happened to fit into this idea I already had been thinking of, which was how the remaining 104th would ask Levi to be part of important events in their lives because well, they like the dude lmao, so expect that sort of one-shot soon. Additionally, since I kept reminding myself that this was supposed to be a drabble, I might have glossed over the chronic pain and mourning bits so I'm sorry about that ;;
that being said, 2.4k words of Levi and Gabi be upon ye <3
Now on Ao3!
The angry hissing of the kettle makes him flinch. It brings a loud ringing to his right ear. Instinctively, he places his right hand over it, and gives his ear a couple of gentle taps; it's more of a grounding gesture, a distraction from the buzzing. He usually keeps watch over the kettle, so that he can lower the heat just right before it gets a chance to scream at him.
He realises then that he must have spaced out while waiting. It’s alright, he thinks. It’s been like that a lot, recently. He’s been like that. Lost in thought-- lost in time, if he allowed himself to be precise. The last days, weeks even, as the temperatures started to drop, blended into each other. There’s a little calendar on his bedside table, it had been a birthday gift from Armin – or had that been Mikasa’s? He isn’t sure, he had received an absurd number of presents from the kids last year, it had been hard to keep track of who gave him what and now the fact escaped him. Turning the pages of the little calendar, with its delicate botanical illustrations on each day, quickly became part of his morning routine, and so he was sure that time was passing at all. The stillness of the routine, he guesses, made him like this.
His vision blurs momentarily while he scoops the tea leaves into the teapot. He squints, trying to will his good eye to focus, but all he gets in return is a throb in his right eye. After putting the tea canister away, he presses the inner sides of his wrists to both eyes, placing just enough pressure to relieve the discomfort. When he opens his eyes again, he is pleased to find he can read the small print on the canister an arm’s length away.
There’s a loud slam coming from the front of the house, followed by footsteps coming further into the house.
He quickly recognizes the heavy stomping as Gabi’s gait. She’s always been so loud.
Gabi crosses the arch into the small kitchen and dining area.
“Don’t slam my doors,” he says as a greeting, slowly turning his head to his left side, trying to catch a glimpse of her in his periphery.
“Aye, aye,” the kid waves her hand, shoots him a teasing grin, “someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed.”
Levi hums in response but doesn’t say anything else. He busies himself with placing everything they need for their morning tea and coffee on a metal tray on the counter, which Gabi takes from him as soon as it’s ready and sets it on the table.
He grabs his cane from where he had hooked it on one of the kitchen drawers. He has been leaning against the counter, his right leg supporting most of his weight all this time. He braces himself for the sharp pain that will surely surge from his bad knee, through his left hip and up his spine. Cold mornings like this one and being still in one place for long will do that to him. It’s not so bad. It could be worse.
It takes 4 steps to get from the stove to his chair, which Gabi has already pulled out for him. It sits at an angle that allows him to easily slide down on it and rest his right elbow on top of the table, leaning back and against his good side.
“I have something that will cheer you up,” she holds a couple of envelopes in her hand and waves them at him, “You’ve got mail!”
He nods at her in acknowledgement but does not take his attention away from preparing his first batch of tea of the day. There’s a ritual to it, it almost feels like, and he doesn’t want to mess it up. Not when the ringing in his ear is still there, the building pressure in the upper back part of his eyeballs, and the cold air seeping into his bones through his thick jumper. Oh, how he needs a good cup of tea right now.
While Levi waits for it to steep, he grabs the papers that she had shoved in his face, squints his eyes at the first envelope and finds that he is unable to make out much of the handwriting. He brings it closer to his face, squints harder, steals a quick glance across the table and hopes Gabi isn’t paying him any mind, too preoccupied with choosing from the bag of pastries she brought with her. It is with an impassive expression that he hands the stack of envelopes back.
“Read it for me.” A beat and then he adds, a little reluctant: “Please.”
He knows Gabi prefers coffee in the mornings, and black tea in the evenings, so he makes sure to have a fresh brew of the former whenever he knows she’s coming over; so, with shaky hands, Levi gets to prepare her cup of coffee. While he enjoys the aroma of it, he remains faithful to tea; at first, he thought he didn’t like it because he had butchered his first attempts at brewing it. But even after Onyankopon had taught him how to do it properly and he had enjoyed his cup, it didn’t bring the same comfort as tea. It just never hit the spot.
She shoots him a mischievous grin, “Oh, you sure? What if I read something personal, hm?”
Levi just shakes his head, scoffing at the idea of Gabi finding his junk mail fascinating.
“Is this how I find out you have a secret lover you’re exchanging raunchy love letters with?” Gabi teases, wiggling her eyebrows at him.
He lets out a tired sigh and rolls his eyes, “just wanna be done with it, ” he stirs the milk into Gabi’s coffee, which now has turned into a cup of milk with coffee. “We have a lot to prepare for tonight.”
She clicks her tongue at him, but still rips the first envelope open, “Mr. Levi, your reading won’t improve if you keep doing that,” she jokingly scolds him.
Although Levi mentally recognises handing her and Falco stuff he couldn’t be bothered reading before, that’s not the case this time. He’ll let her think that for now, though, because he doesn’t want to mention the pressure building in the back of his bad eye, it’s not important and she, a kid, doesn’t need to know his newly found ailment of the week. He can see just fine around him right now. He can see Gabi’s big eyes and playful smile at the other side of the table, and that’s good enough; smaller details, he doesn’t feel he can do them, not without making himself go dizzy with a migraine.
Levi slides the cup of coffee to her and is pleased with himself when she approves of the colour of her drink.
“It’s from Armin,” she announces as she scans the letter.
From this angle, the soft morning light illuminating her face and thanks to his faulty vision, Gabi’s image stirs his memory. His heart faintly constricts as he is reminded of the many times Hange read their research reports to him during breakfast in the mess hall before presenting them to Erwin. Levi always wondered how they could read so fast, sometimes he even doubted they were actually reading at all, their words barely being able to catch up with her eyes; he never asked about it, maybe reading came easy to them as numbers did to him.
A high-pitched squeal from Gabi startles him, bringing him back to the here and now.
“Oh… ohh, Mr. Levi,” she starts, her smile widening by the second “This is good news!”
Gabi makes a show of clearing her throat and then starts reading “Dear Captain, I hope this letter finds you well and in good health.”
Levi can’t help but let a sardonic huff at the irony of the greetings but doesn’t let himself be bothered by it. He has written only a handful of personal letters throughout his life, and by now he knows it’s just something you’re supposed to say because jumping straight to the point isn’t acceptable, or so that’s what he had been told.
Gabi continues reading Armin’s words to him. For the most part, it’s a standard letter coming from him: he asks Levi how he’s dealing with the changing of the seasons, how Gabi and Falco are faring, if business at the tea shop has been good, if there’s anything Levi needs that he can’t get in town so that Armin or the others can get it for him. He tells him a little about the country he’s writing from, he even includes a photograph. Then, after the expected pleasantries, Gabi can barely hold her excitement and starts reading faster, trying so hard not to trip over her words.
“If I’m being sincere, we would prefer to ask you in person,” Gabi stops for a second to look up at him from the paper, gauging for a reaction and finding nothing, she continues.
Armin apologises for not being able to visit him before the holidays, Annie included, and so it is implied that he won’t be attending tonight’s reunion.
Sometime during the last five years, the Alliance brats had decided to make showing up at Levi’s doorstep together once a year a sort of custom; the first time it happened was during an early winter, a blizzard had stopped them from leaving Levi’s until the next morning. It had been a really nice evening despite the awful weather, Levi remembers, after everyone pitched in one way or another, they all shared a simple but hearty meal together. It was Connie who jokingly said they should do it every year. The following year, Onyankopon, Gabi and Falco joined them.
This year would be their fourth, and the first someone wouldn’t make it. That fact sits heavily in Levi’s chest, stealing the spotlight from his throbbing eye.
“...Annie and I have decided to get married. The both of us would like you to officiate our ceremony!” unable to contain her excitement, she tears her eyes away from the paper and looks at Levi. “Huh?! This is good news! What’s with the constipated face?!”
That doesn’t sound right. It figures that Annie and Armin would be the first to marry; in a way, he is happy for them, they clearly care for each other. No, that part is easy to understand. Their union is logical to anyone who knows the couple. What Levi can’t figure out is why they are asking him such a thing.
He clears his throat, assumes it’s been 3 minutes and his tea is ready to be poured and so he distracts himself with that.
When he doesn’t answer Gabi, she picks up where she left off.
He isn’t… well, he isn’t that close to either of them. He’s sure Annie must have other relatives that could step in his stead. Maybe a brother, a cousin. Even Jean or Reiner would be better options than Levi. He isn’t good with words or people like they are, he couldn’t possibly give them a speech about something foreign to him as it is that kind of love, that’s what people expect, right? His title of Captain is obsolete in this new world, so it can’t be that either. Hell, he has never been to a fucking wedding.
Just… why him?
As expected, Armin doesn’t really go into the details of their choice but does let Levi know they do not expect a fast answer and that they do not want him to feel pressured to accept it, despite how much it would mean to them if he did. Armin asks if there’s anything in particular that he would like for his birthday, as it is a month away, and closes the letter by saying he looks forward to seeing him and everyone then.
When the letter is closed and put back into its envelope, silence falls around them. For a moment the only sound that can be heard is the clinking of tableware as Levi places the teacup back on its saucer.
It bothers him, that he knows he will be letting Armin down by refusing something that any other well-adapted person would consider an honour. But the thought of embarrassing him and himself, because he gave an awkward, most likely insensitive, speech, mortifies him. No, he can’t put them and their guests through that. He will find a way to make it up to the couple, maybe he can… he doesn’t know yet, but he will come up with something.
As he finishes his first cup, Levi realises that at some point while he was lost in thought, the ringing in his ear has subsided and now it’s back to that muffled, cotton-in-ear sensation he’s used to and he doesn’t feel his eyeball pulsating anymore. Glancing at Gabi, he notices she is trying really hard not to say something, her brow furrowed as she takes a sip of her own drink, followed by a big bite of her pastry. Flakes stick to the corner of her mouth and for once it doesn’t disgust him. Instead, it makes his lips twitch as if going into a smile.
“I can help you... if you want,” she says eventually, sounding uncharacteristically careful and small of her.
Levi quirks an eyebrow “Help? with what?”
She shrugs, “How to… tell them you don’t want to,” she avoids looking at him for the first time, finding the flakes on her plate more interesting. She shrugs again and tilts her head to the side, a thin line of a smile appearing on her face. “...or prepare for the ceremony.”
Not unlike many times before, Gabi’s words render him speechless, if only for a moment. He spares his tea a glance and he thinks: it’s bold of her to be so upfront about offering her help to him, and had it been any other morning, one where he couldn’t think past the constant ache in his body, he would’ve chewed her head off for simply trying to help him because he himself doesn’t know how to accept that kindness.
This kid is trying her best and he can’t help but feel somewhat proud of that.
“You have shit on your face. Here,” he points to where the flakes would sit on his own face and picks his refilled teacup back up.
Gabi quickly wipes her mouth with the back of her hand, getting most of the flakes off. Levi gives her a thumbs-up with his free hand.
“I’ll think about it,” he finally concedes and tries to ignore the little happy dance she does in her seat.
This time, when the amber liquid touches his lips, it’s remarkably sweeter than before.

Thoughts on Levi's First Impression of Hange
During a writing session, I went back and referenced Bad Boy, the manga detailing the awakening of Levi's Ackerman powers, and noticed some differences in the way the characters dressed.
The reader sees Levi in fairly simple clothing. A dark cardigan thrown over a tattered, oversized shirt bound at the waist, dark trousers. The men attacking him are in a similar state of dress, one that holds resemblance of the way Eren dresses, as seen here:

So it can be supposed that this would simply be the way that people of lower or middle class dress. However, there's one man in Levi's group of attackers who remains in the back, and doesn't lay a single hand on Levi. Though we don't have a full view of him, it becomes quickly clear that he's of a higher class, given his cigarette, his waistcoat, the collared shirt (see the second following panel). He looks to be the person buying from these men.

It was the fact that he had glasses which caught my attention. This man is set apart from the beginning as a "foreigner," most prominently when he specified that Levi is an illegitimate child from the Underground. He's a foreigner to the Underground, and therefore, a foreigner to Levi. The way he treats Levi here emphasizes the chasm between their two worlds. Glasses also seem to be a general sign of intelligence, or more accurately, of education, which is mainly accessible by the rich. Not even Armin, who shows high levels of intelligence, wears glasses, and this could correlate to the fact that he's not only from Wall Maria, but from one of the towns jutting out of the wall, acting as bait for the titans. This is more clear in that scene of ACWNR where Isabel is shown to be able to add, just very slowly, but I digress.
So, in the introductory scene between Levi and Hange, Hange is automatically a puzzling character. The contrast of their cheerfulness with the tense mood of the scene, the various portrayals of their glasses whited out...
That first panel of them, with the angle from below, maybe Levi's first person perspective. They are basically a different specimen, lol. We saw in Bad Boy how the man in glasses tried to gaslight Levi into believing he was a good man, who tried to help Levi, so the wariness written all over his face is well founded upon seeing this glasses person showing up unexpectedly.
On top of their general kindness (as Levi had really only received offhanded remarks on his upbringing from the Survey Corps so far), they are also, from his perspective, the first "upper class" person to have treated him with so much respect. Not only this, but they're treating his friends kindly, they're in the Survey Corps willingly as a supposed upper class citizen, and they're complimenting him. The initial distrust on Isabel and Furlan's faces is clear, but even they show some surprise when Hange recalls their names, indicating that this is really unusual behavior for someone to pay attention to them this way. With respect? And grace? With humanity? Truly unheard of.
So in conclusion, Hange really is an abnormal in his perspective, aren't they? Of course, they had just heard him discussing his murder plans with Isabel and Furlan, but don't rain on my parade, it's fun to think.

Teacher's Pet|Part 1|Teacher Levi x Student Evelyn
(A/N: This is a bit before the pre-written oneshot so I hope you enjoy this beginning to this series.)
WARNINGS: implied noncon/dubcon, yandere themes/behaviours, power imbalance, manipulation, mind breaking, blackmail, violence, mentions of mental health struggles, age difference, misogyny, kidnapping, etc.
===============================================
Evelyn was proud of herself that she had been able to work so hard and get into this school. Her career was promising if she could graduate with decent grades.
Her roster for classes included her psychology program with Professor Zeke Jeager, apparently he was the best in the field to learn from and a recommendation from him could get you into any job you wanted.
Evelyn was to specialize in criminal psychology, she had always had such a fascination with how the mind worked with some of these serial killers the world had seen throughout the years. She wanted to know what made a person go from a good upstanding citizen to a killer who had no regard for the lives they were taking.
Her dorm room had already been decorated with posters of all the true crime podcasts that she liked to listen to, inspiration for the coming semester ahead. She had no doubt that with her interest in the program that she was going to excel. She waited for the day that she would be able to fully study her passion with such amazing professors to add their input and allow her to see things from a different angle.
What she didn't expect was a notice informing her that her psychology class would be delayed a week. Professer Jeager had unexpectedly left the school and they were in the middle of putting in a substitute. It was a shame, since she thought so highly of Professor Jeager, but so long as whoever replaced him was up to the same standards then she wouldn't complain.
When it was decided who would replace him Evelyn began hearing whispers of that Professor Jeager's replacement was even stricter and a rather harsh man who cared little for the wellbeing of his students. This was his third college teaching for, the others he had allegedly left because their students were "hopeless". Surely he couldn't be that bad, right? No one could live up to all the rumors that college kids happened to spread.
He couldn't be that bad. Professor Levi Ackerman, he seemed like a respectable man.
================================================
Evelyn's first class left her with the inability to find a seat. This program had more students than she thought, which was a good thing because she supposed that meant it was a good program. What wasn't helpful was the fact that so many seats were already taken and she was finding trouble finding one of her own.
It was humiliating but nothing compared to the taunting voice suddenly behind her.
"Please find a seat students. And yes that includes you in the front, there's a seat right in front of you, sit down and stop being a disruption."
Evelyn's face burned as she took her seat in the front, staring back at the professor that everyone had gossiped about. He fit the look of a mean and stern man who couldn't wait to expel students for the slightest misbehavior.
He launched in his lesson, already leaving her struggling to keep up. He rarely explained points and when he did it was so deep that she didn't even know where to begin to unpack everything. This was a subject that she thought she knew so well, but here she was struggling to understand it. How embarrassing.
Finally he was through, not giving them any room for questions or comments of any kind. He was impatient, like he just wanted to do the bare minimum and get out. He wasn't there to help them learn at all, but just to get a paycheck and say that he did as he was supposed to. All the good money she had spent, stuck learning from this asshole? What was she supposed to do now? She knew she couldn't get far on her own like this. Maybe he offered tutoring lessons, maybe he just wasn't good with group teaching. She was inclined to think the best of people, sure he seemed like an asshole but maybe that's just a coincidence.
Evelyn approached him hesitantly. "Professor?"
"Ah, you, distraction girl."
She frowned at the comment. "Yes, sir. I was wondering, do you offer tutoring for your class?"
He sighed and looked at her. "And why would I do that?"
She flushed. "Well, your material can just be confusing. Some students might struggle. So I was just wondering if you would be willing to tutor me."
"Look, if you aren't smart enough for the material-"
"I am smart enough-"
"If you were then you wouldn't need me to hand you the answers."
"That's not what I-"
"There are other students here who will study and succeed, if you want hand outs or an easier class than save yourself the trouble. Drop out now and go get some useless degree that won't get you anywhere." He proceeds to ignore her, returning to gathering his belongings.
Evelyn wanted to push further but didn't want to bring on his wrath on the first day. She might be able to understand the material, she just had to try. And he was right, the other students wouldn't ask for help, they'd find their own way to succeed and so must she.
But he could've been at least a little bit nicer about it.
